Hello Parents and 2nd graders!

New assignments will be posted Sunday-Thursday between 2:30 -3:00 pm.   If you have any questions about the work, please email me at tbrasic@saintpiusv.org.

I encourage you to pray with your child every morning, before meals, and every evening. This is something we do every day in school. Below are the prayers we say in class.

Morning prayer: Dear God, As I begin this day, keep me in your loving care. Help me to live as your child today. Bless me, my family and my friends in all we do. Keep us all close to you. Amen.

Prayers before Meals: Bless us, O Lord! and these Thy gifts, which we are about to receive from Thy bounty, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Have your child observe toothpaste and write down their ideas of whether they think toothpaste is a solid or liquid.

Put the toothpaste in a bottle of water.

Ask the question, does the toothpaste seem like a liquid or a solid when we add it to water?

Shake the bottle and have them write down their observations and draw a picture of what they see.

Put the bottle in a safe place and then observe the bottle tomorrow to see what toothpaste in water looks like now.  Students will write down their observations and draw a picture.

Have the students answer the question if toothpaste is a solid or a liquid and write down their evidence to support their answer.

Use the attachment to draw the pictures.
