We welcomed three new teachers this year!
Meet our new 6th grade teacher, Ms. McKenna!
~Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think ~ Albert Einstein
Allow me to introduce myself to everyone… My name is Kathleen McKenna. I have been in the education field for the last thirteen years as a teacher in the Archdiocese of Chicago.
I began my career in CPS going from a room “mom” to teacher’s assistant in the Special Services Department and General Education. I completed my education with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from National Louis University.
When I have time I enjoy spending it with my wonderful family. My kids are very active in sports and dance. We enjoy visiting museums and parks during our breaks or just going to the beach. I enjoy the simple things in life… Family, Faith, and Community!
I am excited to be here at St. Pius. Already it is starting to feel like home!
A word from our new Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Krems!
“I am very excited to be here at St. Pius V School. I have taught Kindergarten as well as First Grade, Second Grade and Third Grade. My heart belongs in Kindergarten where I have taught for sixteen years. I have a married daughter and four wonderful grandsons. I enjoy knitting, crocheting, scrapbooking and jewelry making. I Have been blessed to have taught in three other Catholic Schools. I love working in a faith-based environment where I can share my love for the Lord and serve others. I am looking forward to a wonderful year with you and your child”
Look who is back! Ms. Micaela Diaz is returning as our EE Teacher!
Ms. Diaz was one of our most beloved teachers for thirty years here at St. Pius V School. In 2015 Ms. Diaz moved to Texas to be with her Grandchildren. She previously taught 2nd and 3rd grade and is very excited to return and teach our EE students this year!
